| From Sportinglife.com and from YP GRAVES ADAPTS ROLE AFTER REGAN EXIT Yorkshire chairman Colin Graves has announced he will take on the duties of the departing chief executive Stewart Regan during county cricket's off-season. Regan is to leave Yorkshire after four-and-a-half years and will begin work with the Scottish Football Association as their new chief executive on October 5. With Yorkshire needing to save money after the disappointing attendances for the Test between Australia and Pakistan this month, it would appear to suit the club to have Graves combining the role. Graves, the founder and chairman of Costcutter, said: "Much has been said of the club's cashflow problems following last week's neutral Test match between Pakistan and Australia but that is a temporary blip. "We will recover and with the support of our partners continue to build for the future. "I have told my board colleagues that I intend to take the role of executive chairman for a period of at least six months after Stewart's departure after which we will then decide on the most appropriate structure to manage the club going forward." Regan, 46, replaces Gordon Smith, who stepped down in April after almost three years in the post. Regan, who led the re-branding of the second tier of English football, spent 16 years in the brewing industry, including a spell as strategic planning director for Bass. A "delighted" Regan said in a statement ahead of a media conference: "From my recent posts with the Football League and Coors Brewers, I have experience of working with a number of key stakeholders in Scottish football. "Scottish football has not been immune to the difficulties of the current financial climate but the passion and commitment to the national game in this country remains unrivalled. "It is this loyalty and dedication that will be essential to re-establishing the game. "I am aware there is a great debate on the way forward for Scottish football and it is my intention to bring all the relevant parties closer together to achieve the obvious common goal of improving the overall standard of the number one sport in this country." | |

| Firstly, hurrah, I'm back living in Yorkshire! Mostly positive thoughts from me towards SR. The link up's with Leeds Met have been smart 'outside the box thinking', and the fanancial problems Yorkshire have now are mainly as a result of the ECB's failure to understand 9 test grounds into 7 won't go. I'd say he leaves us in a much more solid position in general. On the down side, parading C***s A***s to the press before he'd signed on the dotted line, the Azeem Rafiq registration mess and 'fact finding' in India without knowing if SKY's contract with the ECB would invalidate everything you're talking about...less impressive. Anyway, I wish Stewart all the best for the future. | |

I was just passing on what was being said at the last Championship match. | |

| Having watched the Harry Ramsden's episode of "Undercover Boss" last night, I can't help wondering how, Stewie, the new academy intake is doing this morning... | |

| An interesting programme although they would have done better to have visited the original chippie in Guiseley instead of various celubrious locations like Swindon, Brighton, Blackpool and Birmingham. it felt a bit like an episode of the Secret Millionaire where the Aussie CEO was going to go out at the end of the programme and give away millions to various employees - instead she gave them all extra work and said how good they were - so the more interesting issue is who at Harry ramsdens elsewhere and not on camera was actually responsible for some of the poor decisions in the past and can we see how she handled her meetings with these people! | |

| I believe the poor decisions were down too previous management that had been bought out. In reality the programme was little more than an advert. Talking to your staff is what all management should do, but often fail too. To use a phrase I've brought back with me from Essex, "If you want to know what the weather's like, ask the haymaker." | |
