Corridor Of Uncertainty Articles- Academy players

Jack Leaning

Jack Leaning of the Academy and 2nd X1 has been selected for the England U19 tour of Bangladesh. I was intrigued to find that though he was educated at Archbishop Holgate School, York he was actually born in Bristol. He played for Heworth in the York League as a 15 year old. Just spotted he is the son of former York City goalkeeper Andy Leaning. Leaning senior is originally from Howden but played some seasons at Bristol City.   IP: ....

Matthew Fisher

Fourteen year old Matthew Fisher took 5-13 for the Academy yesterday, a stunning performance for a player of that age. He seems one to watch.Link: Profile on OS IP: Logged hawke Posted on 03/06/2012 16:18Academy - Matthew Fisher Report Message | Email Message To A ....

Ryan comes from Staithes and plays his club cricket for Marton in the NY/SD League. He has toured India with England Schools. More importantly Ryan has gone ....

Eddie Wilson - Grandson Of Ray

I hadn't realised that the Academy player Eddie Wilson is the grandson of the footballer Ray Wilson the full back of Huddersfield Town and Everton and of course England fame. Looking Ray up on Wikipedia etc he hailed from north Derbyshire and stayed with Town until he was 30. That might explain why he lived and still lives in the area after his retirement from football. Of course we all know he ran an undertaking business.Anyway Eddie is from the Huddersfield area, having ....
