Terry Connor has thanked Wolves fans following his dismissal from his post as assistant manager this week. Speaking to the club's official website, he said “I have spent 13 years working for the club in many varied roles, and while there have been plenty of ups and downs along the way I have to say it has been a fantastic time for me. I can’t deny that I am very disappointed with how things have ended but, for the rest of the time, I have loved every minute of working for Wolves. There have been some tough challenges both for me and the club during those 13 years, but I am leaving only with happy memories particularly of the success we have enjoyed in recent years in winning the Championship title and staying in the Premier League for three seasons. Wolves is a fantastic club with fantastic staff – I said last season how proud and honoured I felt to be manager for 13 games but to be honest that pride extends to all of the time I have spent at Molineux. It has been an honour and a privilege to work for such a special club with great supporters and I have met some wonderful people along the way.
“To every member of staff at Molineux and the training ground I can only say a heartfelt thank you for the help you have given to me and my family. I have got to know so many people behind the scenes who are Wolves through and through and are the fabric of the Club having worked there for so many years. They have been through issues in life which are far worse than me losing my job, and have still come back and battled on - they are the people who help make Wolves what it is. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Jez and his wife Babette for their constant support, encouragement and trust in me through all the ups and downs that have happened. Also thanks to the Chairman, Steve Morgan, and the Board of Directors – the club is in good hands. I must also express my appreciation to the managers, players and other members of the backroom staff who I have worked so closely with during my time at Wolves. And finally, thanks to the fans who have given their backing to me and the club over the last 13 years – I am very grateful for all your support which has meant so much and will not be forgotten. “I sincerely wish the club every success for the future, and one day I would love the opportunity to return in some capacity.'
