Team Captain Richard Wood says he is 100% committed to Wednesday despite putting in a transfer request a couple of weeks ago. The Centre Back says "I can understand why some fans may have been disappointed with regard to this news, but I hope they realise that I have always given 100 per cent effort for Sheffield Wednesday and will continue to do so throughout my career with the club.

"The reasons I put in a transfer request satisfied the manager and I fully appreciate the decision made by the football club in turning down the request.

"I am fully supportive of Brian Laws and his management at Sheffield Wednesday. Having been involved with the club since I was a young boy, I am hugely proud to be team captain and I am very grateful to Brian Laws for giving me this opportunity and for continuing to support me as skipper."

Franny Jeffers played for 30 mins last night in the reserves 3-1 victory over Port Vale setting up 2 goals, Wade Small also played in his own bid for fitness.
