The Lilywhites picked up a valuable point with a 2-2 draw away to Derby last night.
All four goals were scored in the first thirty-two minutes of the match with Rob Hulse opening the scoring for Derby after just eight minutes with a powerful strike.
But Emmaneul Villa gave Preston a penalty when he brought down Ross Wallace in the area and Callum Davidson put the ball in the back of the net.
Neil Mellor then put the Lilywhites in the lead on twenty-nine minutes with an eighteen-yard strike.
The lead was short-lived however after Jordan Stewart fired home a thundering volley to drew Derby level.
Perhaps tired from their early exersions, neither team produced a winning goal and the spoils were shared.
Derby manager Paul Jewell:
"It was a crazy first half, the first time we got in their box we scored.
"Although they were 2-1 ahead and deserved to be, the manner of their goals was a joke.
"In the second half for the first 25 minutes we played very well and looked more of a threat although they finished strongly."
Preston manager Alan Irvine:
"I would have taken a point before the kick-off because this is a very hard place to come to.
"But we were disappointed after the first half because I thought we were terrific and we were disappointed to go in at two each.
"My job at half-time was to pick the lads up a bit because they were extremely disappointed."
