While the PL is awash with money, The PFA make all the right noises, but seem to do nothing, and the FA is about as much use as a toothless lion, they have allowed this to happen.

We keep being told about the millions being handed down to grass roots football, and yet they can't even save a club for a price which is about 2 weeks of Rooney's wages.

When I took over the club, HMRC and other creditors had in excess of 350,000 of unpaid liabilities. Additionally, I was extremely concerned that to operate Notts County Ladies for the current season was going to cost us approximately 500,000 - a figure principally made up of player and coaching salaries.

Our total projected incoming revenue from attendances and sponsorship was 28,000.

500k to run a team on a revenue of 28k WTF?

I guess we all have a view on what should or shoudn't be subsidised.

But to be clear, nobody is saying that Notts County can't have a Ladies team. The finances are just saying that they can't afford to operate a team at this level. If a group of female players and coaches want to come together without being paid (like 100s of thousands of footballers do every week), that's fine.

Isn't it like me being annoyed/sad that Pompey couldn't keep signing and paying for a team of Sol Campbell/Defoe/Diarra?

Supply and demand innit?

WOOF.

It's not possible to run a professional lesbian team without subsidy when their games are attended by a few dozen perverts, masochists and pant-sniffers. Carry on, nothing to see here.

You would have thought the Ladies may have been better at cutting their cloth. Sounds like a stitch up.

After decades of abuse from females that comprehensively all hated football, when I was meant to be growing up, the first female relation that played football gave me my opportunity for revenge. On approaching the game that her team were playing I started very noisily enquiring what 22 grown women chasing a bag of air was all about etc. I was warned that it wasn't safe for me and my very young children to go in the bar afterwards, as the Lesbian goalie was out for blood. I haven't changed my mind.
