There were times I called for your head this season.

Neasom

I have to also fall on my sword and eat humble pie - though I turned reluctant bed wetter just at the point we did the right thing and got rid of Smith.

As for Mr.McInness - I know you are a decent bloke and proper Pompey. You have also done the right thing, as hard as it may have been. You deserve every bit of praise for what has happened. It takes a brave man to step away at the right time.

As for Savvers - I am , VERY, VERY big and XXXXXX full of my own importance, at times - just like you, Mush.
I prefer to bait scammers than my own kind though!

Good on you Spirit of Neasom. It's easy for us to say we'd have done something different but we don't see the outcome of our call- for good or bad. Acknowledging you weren't entirely right is virtuous and something some of the silent masses on here could learn from- in fact, all of us could.

Dear Paul Cook, I supported you 100% even when some gaylords were calling for your head. Shame you're a scouser though.
Buy me a drink.

No way am I going to apologise for my view of Paul Cook. The quality of football has been shocking for most of the season, and most of last too. Had Carlisle not freed up a space by selling their striker and imploded things could have been different. And it's not as if Cooks a beginner either.

So glad that we're out of here but that team should be above Plymouth and matching Doncaster. It should be enjoyable to watch, rather than desperate to see. We should not be playing big matches with makeshift strikers whilst THREE players (including one fairly proven) are twiddling their thumbs.

Cracking to get promoted but it means Cook's style of football (side ways, wingers with the pace of George Lawrence, predictable subs, Anti-Chaplin) continues for a bit longer.

Incoming!

We looked play-offs or worse against Donny on the box and at that point I was convinced we were simply re-enacting the previous season. We would come good and fail to follow it up.

Then Smith goes out to pasture, E Doyle comes in, Kal and Bennett hit form and we're a different proposition.

There were times where we were playing the old boys Tues-Sat-Tues and I questioned it. I have been proven wrong on that because there have been occasions where they've coped with it. I thought it was fatigue but clearly it was form, which can be down as well as up.

There was also the implosion of Davies at home recently as well. I'd have ripped him off but Cook left him out there and put Whatmough along side him. I take my hat off to him for that as I'd have killed the player by making an example of him and having the crowd boo him off, but Cook knew better and clad him with a composed player who can head the ball.
