The Magpies failed to knock out conference side Kettering and will now have to play a replay on the ninth of December for a place in the third-round of the FA Cup.
Kettering actually took the lead after only eighteen minutes when County keeper Russell Hoult got a hand to the ball but could not stop it rolling over the line when it was poked into the net by Brett Solkhon.
The Magpies equalised just after the half hour mark when Jamie Forrester gave the ball to Sean Canham and he found the net.
After the break neither side had the cutting edge but Kettering actually finished the stronger side and Guy Branston and Craig Westcarr both had efforts cleared off the line.
