The big one.

This is it, the start of a new era as the Cobblers have a real local Derby to look forward to. Now that Rushden and Diamonds have run out of money and, let's be honest, Posh wasn't a real Derby, it's left to Franchise Football to provide some local passion.

MK Dons started the season with a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City, another local side that we could well be playing for a few seasons to come, but turned things around mid week beating Norwich 1-0 in the Carling Cup.

The season has started well for the Cobblers with a 4-2 win against Cheltenham and a 1-0 Cup victory against Milwall mid week Northampton will be hoping to push on and grab the top spot.

Northampton will be hoping to fill the away end selling out their 3'500 allocation of tickets for this mouth watering clash.
