Matched Betting/Arbing, still possible to make decent money?

I used to arb about ten years ago when returns of 10k a year were possible, does anyone still do it. Seems a lot harder now I'm back into it with sophisticated bots and bookmakers. Anything left to extract, or worth signing up to software like rebelbetting, oddsmonkey etc? Not sure if much left in shop Arbing either nowadays.

Very little to be had.

I get about 20 a week on coral, but only through priority status.

It was possible to make a modest income 12 years ago on Betfair/Bookies - now margins are very tight. I think the less sophisticated punters don't use Betfair as much.

only on bookies special offers at the big festivals, but arbing will lead to closed accounts, although it is what bookies do to make a living they regard punters who do it as total cnuts

opening new accounts is getting harder and harder

betfair will never close an account unless you're doing some kind of fraud

I made a stupid amount writing a bot that took overrounds/underrounds. Printing money for about 18 months until they stopped publishing those opportunities (cross matching).

Got a arbing bot now that backs on bookies/lays on betfair. Works well but the bookies soon suspend/close accounts. Made about 9k in a couple of years opening up accounts in mine and my gfs names. Intend to repeat in friends/family names but it's a pain in the XXXXXX setting it all up.

The arbing bot isnt mine it's a mates. After he got banned from most of the bookies he wrote a system where his server instructs the bot clients (that you would run) to bet instead. He takes a cut. It works by buying £30 worth of credit for £10. That means you pay £10 and wont run out of credit until you are guaranteed at least £30. In reality you make a lot more as he calculates commission etc are the worst case scenario (meaning you make actually make more). You also end up getting even more from bonuses like guaranteed best odds and sometimes bookies even pay out for a horse coming 2nd so you win twice. Come back on Monday if still interested as hes not in work today. I'll ask him if hes bringing in more clients as sometimes hes full.

The main draw back is you will get banned or forced to reduce stakes so if you like the odd normal bet you may have to find new bookies or just use betfair

I wrote a very simple bot that just scraped Oddschecker and pinged any under-rounds to me. Made decent money off it until I got stake-limited by all the major bookies.

I was a bit reckless (e.g. betting on no-mark tennis players in obscure tournaments) so it's possible I could have gone further with a little more caution, but that requires a lot of time/effort trying to cover your tracks so they don't spot what you're doing, and reduces your earnings.

Definitely worth it if you use all the new customer sign-up deals, though.
