A few manc lads getting lippy with ordinary fans.

Unfortunately for them they didn't notice a couple of like minded individuals from teesside in thee vicinity and got a few slaps before running g to the police.

Just what I've been told last night so not an eye witness account.

There were a couple of lads near us singing most of the Man Utd songs under their breath throughout the game. Very strange because they're both s/t holders. Made it confusing to decide if the pair of them needed chinning or not. Eventually opted to await advice from this message board.

Someone walking past said: "That's Boro for you" and they got all riled up again. Made me laugh.

My stepdad was there collecting for the MS Society and when it kicked off everyone ran but he couldn't so just stood there with his bucket hoping someone would put some money in as they ran past.

Man Utd coming is like a visit from the Moonies.

Really poor songs sung word perfect by people who have been practising the song sheets all week.
That Hermans Hermits crap yesterday was a particular low even for them.
There isn't anything authentic about them, they're like a 3k strong boy band formed from all the X Factor audition failures.

I saw it from about 25 yards behind. There was a group of ManU doyles (approx 8 of them) singing "Manchester, la, la..." whilst walking with cans from near Cineworld car-park to the first underpass. They went under and then a lot of shouting came back, then the sound of fists and heads against heads, couple of young 'uns doing that bouncy thing, police had hold of one ManU doyle which allowed a young un to slap him etc. There was 2 police in the underpass and they struggled to control it. It stopped then re-started another two times as more young 'uns were attracted back towards the kerfuffle

Don't condone it, but if you sing away team songs whilst approaching an underpass overcrowded with home fans, you are taking quite a risk

Sorry but either set of fans should be able to 'get away' with singing their own team songs so long as they're not being intimidating

Yes d_robbo in a perfect world drunk middle aged men (supporting the away team) should be able to verbally antagonise a larger number of home supporters in a confined space. The home supporters should all just turn the other cheek...

Meanwhile, back in reality, if I started shouting "Boro, Boro, Boro..." in people's ear, in a darkened underpass ([;)]) half a mile from Old Trafford and got clipped, then I'd reflect upon my own stupidity

Not funny. I am a scouser and boro fan, I except that people outside the city might feel a little or a lot similar to your comment. However the Liverpool families and other families have stood up for justice they had to take on the establishment and had to do it for years despite set back after set back because the knew the truth about their loved ones. Look what they uncovered by their determination and tenacity a massive police and government coverup which if had in another country or dictatorship people would feel anger and dismay. It was not about football it was about the ordinary person fighting for justice and anyone who's thinks they were wrong or seeking pity you are so far off the mark. My comments aren't about being PC just respectful.
