Oh I so wish I could, but it's going to be another couple of years of financial struggle for me before I can afford a season ticket again. Had one from the last couple of years at AP right through till a couple of years ago. Now it kills me that I can't go every week and am pretty much in a lottery for any spare tickets that may be left over when I can afford one. It looks like this season will be the first since 1975 that I will not get to a single game [|)]

I have a baby on the way so I can't see me getting to any games anyway and after this season I'm not even sure I'm going to miss it. Not angry or upset by this year, just feel nothing towards the club any more. If this is the pinnacle and the goal of the club I don't really see the point especially if it's not enjoyable or entertaining. Sad to say it but mid table in the championship is about right for Boro and where the club deserves to be. After the awful football this year, the pr from Gibbo and the spineless relegation I think a lot of fans will walk away. Failure to invest in the team and hit the ground running and it will be like last time with crowds of 15k and years in the championship. The only way Gibson will keep the fans on board is to go out and do what Villa did and spend big. Villa might not get up this year but with that squad they will be contenders for the next few years.

erimus 74 spot on, I waited back yesterday watching the thousands walking out of the ground could not help thinking what a wasted season and if we do go down as it looks it will be a half empty stadium again. The whole team needs revamping, the big earners will leave and our midfield is simply not good enough for this league. Karanka did well getting promotion but has ruined this season.
I dont think me and my son can stomach another 46 games in the championship will probably just pick and chose like you do.

erimus74 Posted on 20/03/2017 12:01

Early bird renewal - yes or no?

Lat summer there was a big debate on renewed prices at the Riverside, I added to the debate, I had no intentions of buying a ST, I knew I would attend more championship games than PL games, but the usual quotes were being typed on here, well don't go the club don't need you, well in fact they do need us, me you & everyone.
As mentioned there was a time, over 25 seasons, I wouldn't miss a Boro home game, I still wouldn't go to the watch the Boro based on where we are in the league, or how we're playing, in fact I felt under more pressue to attend Boro games at the Riverside under Mogga & Strachan than I ever did under Aitor, as I felt the club, attendance wise, needed me more, never have, never will, or how much it costs, I didn't believe the price increase was justified in the summer & don't more so now.

Before the final whistle there were loads of Boro fans walkling out, did they all had reasons to leave before the end?, I stayed till the final whistle, always have done, does that mean I'm a better Boro fan than them, not a chance, when we get relegated & Boro fans who chose not to renew after one season, does that make em a lesser Boro fan, no it doesnt.

Agree peterkay, but thats football for you really, not just the Boro.

On saturday when Sunderland played the commentator made reference about the empty seast at the SOL, yet they keep harping on about the fanatical supporters up the road, PL football will always bring consistently bigger crowds, but if we stay among the top teams next season we will be over the 20,000 plus crowds which is still excellent TBH.
We have a bnardcore of around the 18,000barriers, which is still good when you considere the size of us

Oddly enough, I reckon the fact I *don't* live in the area will always make me *more* inclined to renew season upon season. It's as much about making a day of it as it is about the football and this seems easier to do when there's travelling to be done.

All Boro fans, whether going now & again, listen to the radio, on the box or every home game, we all want the same thing & that's what's best for our football team.

I want to change from my regular seat in the north to the family zone with mu 2 kids. Wheather we stay up or go down i wanna take them. None available acording to the ticket office. Fair enough but their suggestion by an adult and 2 child season tickets elsewhere and maybe they all wont sell. Erm no tge difference for me is about 400 and the reason i want family zone is due to the kids season ticket price.

What annoys me is that i can guarantee it wont be full if we go down. But i cant pre book at early bird rates unless i sign up to two full price child tickets. Which i cant afford.

If I had been sure of promotion last time then I wouldn't have renewed. I'm quite selfish and there is nothing in the Premiership for me. Fewer games, poor venues, scramble for tickets and random KO times at short notice.
