I think we will put a run of results together now. Dont ask why or how but I think we will. Wheater needs to give his head a shake and Jones needs to be dropped. I'm not Poggy's greatest fan but he has shown spirit to take us forward and the big ginster has found the net so it's onwards and upwards...

FFS we have as much chance in beating QPR as we do against Peterborough in this league.

What we need to do is convince Kitson to stay - cos he will make the difference.

IMHO we won't progress until we get a settled side. Rotating the keepers and the increased injury list in the colder weather won't help us in that regard. Apart from that, we've got some of our toughest games coming up before we get Scunny on Boxing Day, by which time we may have work to do to put ourselves in the frame for the play-off places.

I never look at the fixtures. I just look at what I see happening on the pitch and on saturday I could see progress despite a poor result. Look at Ipswich, they won at Cardiff. It's all about how you do on the day. There's only Newcastle and West brom and Forest who are any cop in this league in my opinion

they are long gone. The only chance we have of catching them is if we beat them twice and that wont happen

Until we get some Centre Midfielders that can pass to their team mates, ideally forwards, then we'll struggle....

I disagree with dropping Jones unless we had a better keeper waiting in the wings which we don't.

Coyne would have got nowhere near that 2nd on Saturday.

Until this team grows a set of balls then we'll be looking over our shoulders at a relegation battle. We ARE that bad.

bandy - i dont know why either - just a feeling - but i think we are going to turn the corner aswell and beat QPR.
That said, i bet gordon is very very tempted to 'drop/rest' big davey wheater and bring in riggott. Or even bring in riggott for st ledger, that might be a bit harsh on st ledger but we desperately need some expereince in the centre as poggi is filling a massive hole at left back because neither of our left backs can play there!

I would bring in riggot and move st leger into midfield alongside Ozzy. Play O neil right and see what happens. Basically strach is juggling what he has got til Jan when hopefully we will land a 12 goal a season midfielder

bandy - i dont like the st ledger in midfeild idea fella. no no no...its the matthew bates situation all over again...and bates cant even play centre half or full back (sorry - bates does my head in he is so schite)
but, as much as possible , play players in their position where you can.
players like arca are more flexible because they have the skill and ability to hold onto a ball in possession.
god knows what we can do about the goalie situation other than spend big bucks.
jones is like a kitten, coyne an average journeyman.
a good commanding keeper gives the whole team a boost in confidence i think.
But wheater is on very shaky ground unless he starts performing much better.

we dont need anymore defensive midfield(putting st ledger in midfield) we have enough of them at the club already. we need creative ones

I'd put Pogatetz and Riggott in at centre-back.
Let's face it, St ledger looks decent, but our defence has been poor since he joined

I wouldn't blame Wheater or Jones for the two goals Peterbrough scored. From what I saw the fullback was at fault for the first while the second was a very good strike.

lefty - agree, the 1st goal, tony mac went missing.
The 2nd goal, although a tremendous strike, the 1st ball in was to tony mac again, who lost a crucial header which, went into the mix for that chunt to lash it in.
Both goals, it pains me to say, were tony mac's fault.

Agree with bill, we have looked shaky.com at the back since st ledger came in, either wheater needs a srong expereinced centre half alongside him to guide him, meaning drop st ledger for riggott or drop wheater because, lets faceit, he is getting bullied, and thats not good for a centre half, at all.

I can see the point of putting poggi and riggott at CH. Its our strongest partnership. But, i think we let in too many set pieces and late goals because the likes of tony mac, taylor, and to an extent, williams(if played at right back) are 5 foot nowt and you need to have players who can win most of the headers in those situations - the situation like tony mac lost his header for the 2nd goal.
Its got to stop.

Somehow, we need to have at least 3 big uns across the back 4 to deal with high balls and be strong in those situations.
