Either the Oxford 'great escape' or Newcastle on the last day when Walshy equalized, then slotted that OG in straight after. Remember watching the pitch invasions from the safety of the Filbo St end.

Up there with me beating Man Utd 6-0 in 1961 at home of course.
but tops the bill was the F.A. Cup Tie replay in 1968 against Man City when we came back to win 4-3 Frank Large scored twice and I think it was Nish and Fern for the others nearly 40.000 there.
Very very close was the draw with arsenal 3-3

1982/83 Burnley, 0-0. Getting into the City dressing room after the game to help the team celebrate promotion. And then giving the news to half the team that Derby v Fulham had been abandoned. Larry May gave me a bottle of champagne to help get me into the spirit. The official history DVD shows me in the dressing room, wearing denim ,and lots of hair.

On a serious not Leeds at home 4-2 Super Rambo comeback was good but has to be Shrewsbury in the cup.

Some great memories there, but I'm with Kendall on the '68 Man City replay. 40,000 and wedged in like sardines on the kop, once we got back to 2-1 before half time, the crowd willed them to victory.

All the better after losing 1-0 in a replay two years before after being 2 up at Maine Road - a certain Mr Young getting all three of their goals!

The first Man City cup replay drew a massive crowd at Filbo ,Leicester had nearly 20,000 at Maine Rd in a crowd of 52,000 ,Leicester went into a 2-0 lead but allowed the Mancs back in to draw 2-2 ,thousands of thier lot turned up for the replay and the traffic into Leicester was amazing ,i had to get off the bus( which was going nowhere ) against County Hall and walk to the ground ,and by the time we got there the turnstiles were shut with thousands of people milling about,we went through an entry in the terrace housing ,climbed up the wall and on to the Popular side floodlight, through the barbed wire and on to the Popular side roof,it was packed up there ,both sets of fans ,our cunning plan was to jump down when Leicester scored but due to a rare mistake from Mr Banks thankfully we never had the chance, it was very cold and uncomfortable up there but i would gladly sit up there for every game than have to sit in the new ground

You've reminded me about that first replay in 66 against the Mancs. I was only 7 at the time and went with my mum and grandad as usual. I clearly remember the crowds queuing to get into the Kop/double decker. You were right, it was a freezing night and the other thing I remember was Banksy down our end running across the penalty box trying to keep warm, whilst we were attacking them up the other end. The other bit I remember was the crowd, just short of 42000, but not all ticket, so I suspect the crowd was much bigger. The Mans were in Div 2 then and did us 1-0 didn't they. Did Young score?

One of my most memorable days at Filbo (and it has a bip63 connection) was 14 May 1983. At home to Burnley where the 0-0 draw gained us promotion in front of a full house with a good old fashioned, good natured pitch invasion at the end.

Another reason it sticks in the mind is because of the events at Kettering train station earlier that day. I knew Billy at the time Ė he was part of a wider group of us who used to go to City games and this being a big day there were 30+ of us on the platform waiting for the train to Leicester. We had failed to do our homework and didnít realise that Millwall were at Chesterfield that day and needed a win to stay in Div 3. The train was rammed with them and as it pulled in and they could see a group of Pringle/Tacchini clad lads on the platform they were straight off the train and straight into us. It was like the Wild West for a few minutes until the plod arrived and order was restored. I remember Billy saying to his pal that his shirt had been ripped at the back. What his friend didnít realise was that he had been slashed by one of the nice Millwall chaps down the whole length of his back but with all the adrenalin he couldnít feel a thing. Anyway, Billy took him down to the General Hospital and they both still made it to Filbo later on to join in the celebrations.

I hadn't seen Billy for years but soon worked out that bip63 was him from some of his tales/posts on here. A proper City fan who will be sadly missed.

RIP Billy...

For me it was the Oxford United game, I was about 15 and it was the first game my dad let me go in the Kop with my mate from school.

The elation at the final whistle and the following pitch invasion was like nothing I've experienced before or since.

God bless Billy.

Dennis Bergkamp's hat-trick. Stunning goals from a genius at his peak. But they still couldn't beat us!

But also that game demonstrates exactly why the fourth official "indicating" how many minutes injury time there will be should never have come in to the game.

We thought all of the three goals that took it from 2-1 to 3-3 could have been the last kick of the game when they went in.

The joy of our equaliser for 2-2 would not have been the same we knew there were still 5-6 minutes more injury time to come.

The despair of Bergkamp completing his hat-trick for 3-2 would not have been as bad if we'd known we still had a couple more minutes to drag it back.

The equaliser for 3-3 sent the place loopy and a good bit of niggle after between Walshy and Ian Wright rounded it off nicely!

I honestly think you can't beat the joy or pain of a last minute winner/equaliser, that game had three!

RIP Billy

Turning the corner onto Burnmoor Street when there was a big game and hearing the Kop already in full voice, especially night games. Enough to make you get a trot on to make sure you got in.

Games, Newcastle twice, once in 92 and again for the first game in the Premiership, revolving ad boards & all.

The Cambridge 5-0

The last game at Filbo, the only time I went on the pitch.

An odd memory is we played Wimbledon once and had some right banter with their fans. Wombles get you're guts out Wombles get your guts out la la la la la la la la. Most of the Dons fans and a few Pen 1 & 2 were also topless.

Rambos solo comeback against Leeds. The Geordie game with Walshies og.
For some reason a 1-1 with Man U in 1987 stands out, Rob Kelly scored with a buckin lob.
The Gunners 3-3 game was good.
But probably the best for me was a 3-1 win over the Trees.
Tony Sealey bucked the goalie up, Ian Bowyer went in goal, and Gary Mac scored a penalty.
It wasn't so much the match as the whole day that was dead good.

The arsenal 3-3 was great, Bergkamp hatrick, City fightback twice.
But i reckon the mid-week 3-3 against Liverpool in the 80's tops it. Lynex got a couple. Atmosphere was electric, 26,000 odd there if i remember rightly. Absolutely brilliant.

Ah got to be the three all against arsenal at the old filbo in the MON years. Just when we though the barstards had nicked with Bergkamps second great goal, up pops Walshy for the equaliser. Filbo went nuts and we really believed anything was possible under MON, and it was.

Mine was in the 1992-93 season and I think it was against Cambridge at home. Nothing to do with the football on the pitch which I can't recall at all! was standing on a packed terrace in front of the main stand with it absolutely p*ssing it down but where we were stood also happened to be directly beneath a gutter of some sort which was dripping even more water down on us. I may as well have been stood under a shower I was so soaked! Why we didn't move I don't know!! maybe we expected it to get lighter or we were penned in!! who knows!!
Other than that all the obvious ones which have been mentioned above!

Oxford great escape for sheer tension and then relief.
Maybe Sunderlad 5-2 for pure pleasure (even if it subsequently acquired a rather wistful 'what might have been' tinge?
Last game there for sadness and emotion. Still wish we were still there.

1. My first game was 13th January 1968 v Wolves. City won 3-1. It was cold. Wolves played in all old gold. The Wolves goalkeeper was called Evan Williams (replacement for the regular Phil Parkes) and he wore track suit bottoms because of the frozen ground.

2. Not long after that came the FA Cup reply with Man City. At 9, I was deemed too young for evening matches. I remember the excitement at school the next day though.

3. The quarter final v Everton. Lost 1-3. Nish scored a belter. 42,000 there.

4. Nottingham Forest April 68 (won 4-2) and my first taste of hooliganism. Those who offended had their pictures posted in a

Most memorable, for all the wrong reasons, was Tottenham at home...the last ever game at Filbert St. The immense sadness I felt leaving the ground that day knowing I would never go back still cuts like a knife even to this day. I/we lost something that day, something we will never ever have again. The 'new' place is faacking awful and I have never once enjoyed it there as much as I did the least enjoyable day I ever had at wonderful old Filbo.

Many of these are memories of cup games, replays, games with huge crowds. Above all else it's still the holy grail to us City fans.
