Would've come in for an unbelievable amount of stick had we not held on.

Some tired legs out there but those two should've been fresh as daisies.

Vardy oh dear. That 'finish' was awful awful awful at 3-1 and the game should've been out of site. The nonsense spouted about him not getting the 'delivery' when that could've been feed in any better if placed by hand. Even the goal he scored he half shanked.

Bit harsh I think, as a striker coming on as a sub it's difficult when all you can do is hold on. Shaky has shown what his first eleven is and Slim and Musa are bit part players for now.We were sitting back and that makes it difficult to get out. Having said that Slim should of scored. I think Shakespeare did the right thing and good to see he sees Musa playing up front and not on the wing. Both players can score and I think will have a part to play this season. Musa is short of confidence and needs a goal. I personally thought he was very unlucky to not start after his 2 goals at Everton.

Musa showed a lack of effort for me Slimani tried Ulloas better with his feet.

This Shakespeare knows the right place to play Musa Is BS too. He had to replace Vardy as after Vardy started to run again 4 games ago he was feeling it for a change and was blowing before halftime today. He had zero choice.

If anything tactically I felt Shakespeare got it wrong wrong today and thanks to a good save/poor finish by Carroll we didn't pay for it.

Should've left Slimani up alone and brought Amartey on in the middle using the extra height to defend their only threat - aerial.

That's a fair point YLR. However, I was actually pleased to see Musa back in the squad, and pleased he was played down the middle when he came on. I think he still has a role to play for us. Less sure about Slimani.

The pace of the game was frantic when they got on,so it was hard to get up to it immediately. The idea was cleRly to use usas pace as an outlet for a besieged defence.
YLRs stroke of genius bringing Amartey on would have bucked the job up by inviting further pressure on us.
Slimani should have scored though

Except it didn't work did it GTIF as nothing that was put Musa and Slimanis way was of enough quality - nor were they up to pace.

My reasoning was based on us not winning the second balls. Struggling to deal with their only threat. Drinkwater tip toeing around tackles as he was on a yellow. Drinkwater and Ndidi bother looking over run second half and providing poor balls to the front men as a result of being rushed and shattered.

If you want to see genius theories GTIF take a look at your weekly 'Considered bucking opinions' [:D]

Whatever you think about Musa and Slim today we saw the game out, so that's job done and as far as I'm concerned and Shakespeare subs worked. I think 3 points away at West Ham is very decent. A month ago we didn't look like we could buy a goal, 3 goals away in London is fine by me.

Easington it was the same scenario though wasn't it? We've got all our men behind the ball it's very difficult for a forward to look good. If your pulling him up for his miss on Tuesday night and today fair enough. I thought Tuesday he actually put a shift in and tried to close down a lot more than usual.

Today we were way too deep, on the ropes and hanging on. I think Shaky was betting we would still get a chance, hence Slim and Musa coming on. When the chance came Slim couldn't finish but I think it proved Shaky right. I've just got this feeling that Musa has important goals in him. Being able to let Vardy run wild for 60 to 70 mins and know there is an option from the bench would be a massive plus if Shaky can get these misfiring signings going.

Jase, I'm on the same page as you regarding musa, it's just that whenever we do use him it needs to be through the middle because he is totally ineffective on the wing where Claudio put him.
On slimani we will have to disagree because there were around half a dozen times on Tuesday where it looked like he'd been told not to step foot in our half of the pitch. He needed to defend from the front in that scenario of holding on & he did nothing of the sort. Seville's defenders on many occasions had all the time in the world to bring the ball out.
I, like daggers would prefer to see ulloa come on.

Musa was rubbish and Gray should have been used.

Slimani? Managing his groin? Either he's fit or he's not? If he isn't what's to be gained by him playing for 15 minutes with our backs against the wall?
