Reckoned he gave Calzaghe a lesson and he should have had a unanimous decision.

Not sure which fight they were watching.

Hopkins grabbed Joe at every opportunity, we're talking 10 or 12 times every round. And the times he wasn't holding he was in walking backwards or complaining about low blows.

Joe wasnt as dominant as he has been but he was the only one in the ring actually boxing.

Did they?

Everyone on Setanta had Calzaghe by a round or two despite the knockdown.

FWIW I had a draw

I agree with you CTC - The holding was frustrating to watch but it was continual rather than occasional and surely worth a points deduction at some stage.

The fact Hopkins was holding should be irrelevant to the scoring unless he had a point deducted.

Speaking of which - what is the point of Joe Cortez?

It's a Cocker that Cortez stopped Hatton fighting Mayweather on the inside but didn't chastise Hopkins at all last night.

The best fighter won anyway - Joe really deserved that.

Roy Jones next and that will be it. Can't see him fighting Pavlik. Pavlik will be staying at middleweight.

Indeed, Pavlik won't step up, and I can't ever see Joe dropping back to 168 to meet him anyway. At least RJJ should provide a better spectacle. Having said that, from a tactical point of view, I thought last nights bout was fascinating...two masters of their craft. It's to JC's credit that he fought the come forward fight that Bhop wanted him to fight, and still beat the wily old bugger.
