What is the best curry youve ever had?
In a Thai restaurant in San Juan and they called it a #3 or a dodgy restaurant called the Rusty Pelican in Barbados it was called the suicide curry.

What is the best curry youve ever had?
Honestly never had a brilliant one but an OK one.
The difference between a takeaway and restaurant is minimal in most cases for Indian food the reason they don't use fresh spices.
Friendly with an Indian family and they wouldn't dream of eating what is served in most of Lancashire.

What is the best curry youve ever had?
An authentic fish masala made by a 65 year old Pakistani, using her traditional family recipe.

Some of my Asian friends have come close, but none have surpassed it.

Nothing I've ever bought has come remotely close to "apna" style.

What is the best curry youve ever had?
Difficult choice... Either...
A Suicide Biryani from Charlie's Plaza in Upper Brook Street, Manchester in 1977, or...
A fish curry cooked on Diani Beach, Kenya in 1981, or...
A Chicken Rogan Josh with Nan (bread) in the Blue Sanam on Wilmslow Road in Rusholme in 1986 or...
The Beef Vindaloo I cooked last Christmas with the Trinidad Scorpion (Red Moruga variety) chillis that I grew myself (it took them 4 months to mature).

All of their time, and perfect for being so.

Tough one that Allez.

I've enjoyed many many different curries.

As someone else said my best one hasn't happened yet.

I guess it has to be authentic as tseasider posts above. I've never had one. But would love to.

What is the best curry youve ever had?
There was a little Southern Indian place in Swindon called Chennai Dosa. Stainless steel tables, plates, water jug and cups. Packed with Indian families, food was the dogs bôllocks as was the draught Kingfisher, which made up for the terrible beer in The Glue Pot....whose idea was that pub FFS! [:D]
Also many moons ago a cheapo authentic Balti in mid Brum called Adil's. You had to pay the local scallies to make sure your car was still in one piece while you ate [:D]

What is the best curry youve ever had?
Too many to mention, last night had a chicken chilli Asian style with Tarks Dhal and three Chappatis from my usual haunt , the Rajpoot in Shipley.

One to mention was in an Afghan Restuarant in Rouen France. Totally different to anything I've had before or since. Not too hot but extremely tasty with scented rice.

Not sure it's the same place you went to Allez but there is a place in Skipton which does take way and seat about 12. They do the best curries ever. You get a set meal for around eight quid and it's awesome. Lovely people too.

What is the best curry youve ever had?
I'm completely spoilt for choice here in Birmingham, with 3 of my favourite restaurants within a 10 minute walk from my house. They are all dirt cheap and, like most here in Brum, Bring Your Own Booze so it's a cheap night out for excellent grub.

If I'm feeling flush then Lasan is amazing. It's not cheap (you are looking at nearly £25 for the venison and even one of the more standard dishes like the Jalfrezi is £21, so about 4 times more expensive that the places I mentioned above!) but it's well worth it. There's a reason it's won loads of awards, including that Gordon Ramsey best local restaurant thing. Is it 4 times as good as the others I go to? Maybe not, but as an occasional treat it's worth a go.

I'm also a big fan of the desi pub, which you find a lot around here - traditional boozers offering excellent Punjabi grub, usually specialising in mixed grills and, as they are normal pubs, excellent pints to go with them. The Merry Maid has a legendary mixed grill which is as huge as it is delicious, tonnes of perfectly cooked juicy succulent meat that will feed about 4 of you for £15 for a large portion. Heaven.

Don't know about the best, but probably the most memorable was in a massive restaurant in downtown Kuala Lumpur and frequented by Indian, Malaysia and Chinese.

Only downside was eating with ones fingers off a banana leaf although this added to the authenticity of the experience.

What is the best curry youve ever had?
Best Curry...my wife's Nasi Lemak Prawn Curry with any appropriate spicey green veg!
Worst curry ever was in India in Jaipur...actually most of the food we had was very disappointing apart from our first hotel in Delhi and the YMCA before a flight home.
The Buffett in our hotel in Jaipur was closed as a Bollywood Crew had taken it over..we were transferred to the A La Carte restaurant where we were to have supposedly the best food.Went to bed and within a couple of hours I was either looking down into the toilet or sitting on it with projectiles coming from above and below.Never been so ill in my life.Next day we had an elephant ride up to the Amber Fort...as we'd paid for it I was not going to miss out but believe me I have no idea how I kept things together so to speak.
Love Indian food but my experience in India was you get better here!

Just spent a year in India, the best I had was in Goa, on the beach in a power cut chefs cooked using candles for light. Amazing prawn curry with Fried kingfisher and red snapper.

Please don't ride elephants again Bleach. Thankfully the Indian government have finally been talking about banning this horrible practice. The ones at Amber Fort are subjected to horrible mental and physical cruelty and kept in nasty little sheds. It might not be quite as bad as the way some are treated in Thailand but it's still pretty disgusting and the only way to stamp it out is just making sure people are informed as to why they shouldn't do it. In the meantime as long as there's a demand from tourists there will be elephant rides.

Now, a nice elephant madras on the other hand is fine, get stuck in.

What is the best curry youve ever had?
Not been to Goa but everyone says the food in Southern India especially the seafood is great.
We were in the so called golden triangle of a Delhi,Aggra and Jaipur where it is mostly vegetarian or so called lamb...which is goat...the architecture and history was great..the food was ..well appalling...but everything else made up for it😳

What is the best curry youve ever had?
Razor....my abiding memory was our elephant overtook another one...when you are sat on what in essence is like a large tray it was some experience ...a bit like being on a boat that is rolling from side to side as the elephant shoulders move as they walk.
This was probably 20 years ago on a journey back from Malaysia visiting my wife's family via Bangkok..we flew Thai airlines...and was a very special holiday despite the Jaipur Belly!

Yeah, I've done it myself a long time ago and it was great fun but proper scary when you are sliding about when they are climbing up stuff! I expected the elephants to be dead slow but they can actually shift at a fair rate, or at least it feels like it when you are up there.

Actually that sounds like a great advert for elephant riding, which isn't quite what I intended [:O]
